SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in early pancreas. Later restricted to beta cells. Undetectable in adult islets.
SIMILARITY: Belongs to the paired homeobox family.
SIMILARITY: Contains 1 homeobox DNA-binding domain.
SIMILARITY: Contains 1 paired domain.
