Human Gene ZNF639 (uc003fjr.1) Description and Page Index
Description: Homo sapiens zinc finger protein 639 (ZNF639), mRNA.
RefSeq Summary (NM_016331): This gene encodes a member of the Kruppel-like zinc finger family of proteins. Amplification and overexpression of this gene have been observed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The encoded protein has been shown to bind DNA in a sequence-specific manner and may regulate HIV-1 gene expression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014].

-  Orthologous Genes in Other Species
Orthologies between human, mouse, and rat are computed by taking the best BLASTP hit, and filtering out non-syntenic hits. For more distant species reciprocal-best BLASTP hits are used. Note that the absence of an ortholog in the table below may reflect incomplete annotations in the other species rather than a true absence of the orthologous gene.
